Answer

All our sites run on a search engine friendly content management system, use search engine friendly urls and the content is properly optimised and tagged for Google and other search engines to understand.

Apart from basic site optimisation, Google's ranking algorithm uses criteria such as history of your domain, unique content, freshness (how often is your site updated) and the number of links to your site from other good or authoritative sites.  Cross linking from our existing sites with national newspapers, supermarkets and all our pharmacy websites on our network gives you a significant advantage with search engines over other local pharmacies.   However, this process takes time and just having a site does not “magically” get you to the top of Google and it is vital to promote your new website to your customers first and foremost.

With a little bit of effort there are many things you can do for free in terms of online marketing and search optmisation:

- registering with Google Places, and getting the PCT and the council to include links to your site in their local services directories

- making sure online directory entries such as Thompson Local and Yell have your site link in

- getting links from local GP websites

- regularly adding some fresh content which could be in the form of regularly updating a frequently asked health questions section.  This will help you do better in Google searches, particularly local searches which will help you win customers from less forward thinking local pharmacies and from faceless national high street chains.

We have introduced a co-operative programme where you can contribute to a Google pay per click search advertising service provided by us in partnership with one of Europe’s top paid search marketing companies which currently turns about 100 million Euros pa in client spend into over 1.2 billion Euros in sales.
